Govt School students excel in JEE; 34 from Ferozepur honoured, Meritorious School leads with 23 achievers
Ferozepur, April 29, 2026: In a motivating initiative by the Punjab Government, a special felicitation ceremony was organized to honour students from government schools who successfully cleared the prestigious Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). A total of 360 students across Punjab were honoured by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for their outstanding achievement.
The primary objective of the event was to encourage and recognise the hard work and talent of students studying in government institutions, inspiring others to follow their path of success. Among the achievers, 34 students belonged to Ferozepur district, representing various government schools.
Notably, 23 students from Saragarhi Memorial Meritorious School, Hakumat Singh Wala, brought laurels to the district with their remarkable performance. Other selected students included one each from School of Eminence Ferozepur City, Government Senior Secondary School (Boys) Ferozepur City, Government Senior Secondary School Panj Ke Utaar, Government Senior Secondary School Bukkan Khan Wala, Government Senior Secondary School Thatta Kishan Singh Wala, and Government Senior Secondary School Kariyan Pehalwan, along with two each from School of Eminence Guru Har Sahai and Mamdot.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister stated that students of government schools are second to none and reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to strengthening the education sector through continuous reforms and new initiatives. He encouraged students to treat this success as a stepping stone and continue striving for greater achievements.
District Education Officer (Secondary Education) Munila Arora and Deputy DEO Dr. Satinder Singh (National Awardee) congratulated the students, teachers, and parents, highlighting that this success reflects collective dedication and support.
The ceremony proved to be a major morale booster, reinforcing public confidence in the government education system.
