Canada: Five Punjabis arrested in Cargo Theft investigation, $2 Million Stolen Cannabis recovered

Brampton, April 30, 2026: Five Punjabis have been arrested in a major cargo theft investigation and stolen cannabis products worth $2 million have been recovered from them.
The charges stem from an incident on April 15, 2026, when officers from the Auto Cargo Theft Unit (ACTU) were conducting an investigation in the area of McLaughlin Road and Highway 401 in Mississauga.
During the investigation police located a trailer that had previously been reported stolen from the Niagara Region. This trailer was carrying a large shipment of cannabis products that had been en route to multiple dispensaries at the time it was stolen.
Investigators several individuals believed to be connected to the stolen trailer. Five Punjabis were later arrested.
