Self-Enumeration facility introduced for Census 2027; Citizens can submit data online
Ferozepur, April 30, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Deepshikha Sharma informed that the Government of India has introduced a self-enumeration facility for the upcoming Census 2027 to ensure greater convenience for the public. Through this initiative, citizens will be able to fill in their details online from the comfort of their homes.
She stated that the self-enumeration service will be available from April 30 to May 14, 2026. During this period, residents can visit the official portal se.census.gov.in to submit their information digitally.
Highlighting public participation, Rajneesh Kumar Dahiya MLA Rural Ferozepur, Naresh Kataria, MLA Zira, Shaminder Singh Khinda Chairman Punjb Agro, and Snehdeep Sharma, DIG Ferozepur Range have already completed their self-enumeration and appealed to residents of the district to follow suit.
Providing further details, the Deputy Commissioner explained that users must first select their preferred language on the portal and then log in using their mobile number along with basic information. After logging in, citizens are required to fill in all the questions accurately and submit the form.
Upon submission, a unique self-enumeration ID will be generated. When a census official visits the household, citizens only need to present this ID for verification, eliminating the need to fill out the form again.
She urged all residents to take maximum advantage of this facility and actively contribute to the smooth and successful completion of the Census 2027 process.
