Farmer UID mandatory to avail Govt schemes: Dr. Amandeep Kaur, ADC
Ferozepur, May 21:, 2026: It is mandatory for farmers to get their Farmer UID prepared to avail benefits of various government welfare schemes said Dr Amandeepl Kaur Additional Deputy Commissioner (G). She appealed to different departments to extend full cooperation to the Agriculture Department in carrying out this important government initiative.
She said that the Central Government has developed a portal named “Agri Stack” for creating Farmer IDs, where farmers are being registered. Information related to land holdings, family details, and land records is being uploaded on the portal.
For this purpose, the department has deployed 73 data entry operators across the district who are visiting villages daily to register farmers. Besides this, Farmer IDs are also being prepared at Common Service Centres (CSCs) operating in villages.
Dr. Amandeep Kaur further stated that the creation of Unique Farmer IDs will help ensure that the benefits of Central and Punjab Government welfare schemes reach the genuine beneficiaries. In the coming time, only farmers possessing Farmer IDs will be eligible to avail benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and receive agricultural inputs such as urea, DAP fertilizer, and other farming-related subsidies.
Chief Agriculture Officer Ferozepur Dr. Balwinder Singh said that awareness regarding this important initiative is being spread among farmers across the district through various publicity campaigns and communication channels.
