Senior Superintendent of Police, Sangrur, chaired a comprehensive crime review meeting with all Gazetted Officers (GOs), Station House Officers (SHOs), and in-charges of various wings of District Police Sangrur to assess the prevailing law and order situation and review ongoing policing strategies in the district.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding the speedy redressal of public complaints, effective measures to curb the growing menace of drugs, and strict monitoring of criminal and anti-social activities across the district. SSP Ravjot Grewal emphasized the need for proactive policing, enhanced field vigilance, and coordinated action against elements involved in drug trafficking and other unlawful activities.
The SSP directed all officers to intensify anti-drug operations and work with full dedication towards achieving the target of making Sangrur a drug-free district. Strict instructions were issued to identify and take stern legal action against drug peddlers, habitual offenders, and persons disturbing peace and public order.
Special emphasis was also laid on maintaining close coordination between police stations and specialized wings to ensure swift action in sensitive matters and strengthen public confidence in the police administration. Officers were instructed to remain accessible to the public and ensure prompt disposal of complaints in a transparent and time-bound manner.
SSP Ravjot Grewal further warned that negligence or laxity in handling criminal activities and narcotics-related cases would not be tolerated. She called upon all officers to perform their duties with sincerity, professionalism, and accountability to maintain peace, security, and harmony in District Sangrur.
