In a commendable effort to uplift young girls and equip them with essential skills for self-reliance, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Amaninder Kaur inaugurated a specialized sewing course for residents of the Children's Home at Gandhi Vanita Ashram. The initiative, organized by the District Red Cross Society in collaboration with the Dalvir Kaur Memorial Charitable Sewing Center in Kartarpur, aims to promote economic empowerment by teaching vocational skills.
Addressing the girls during the launch event, Amaninder Kaur highlighted the transformative potential of the sewing course in enabling them to become financially independent. She emphasized that upon completing the training, the participants would be well-prepared to establish their own self-employment ventures, paving the way for a brighter and more secure future. Encouraging the children to approach the training with dedication and diligence, she underscored the importance of perseverance in achieving their goals.

District Child Protection Officer Ajay Bharti was present at the event, lending his support to this noble initiative. Amaninder Kaur also expressed her appreciation for the efforts of Surjit Singh, President of the Dalvir Kaur Memorial Charitable Sewing Center, and his colleague Amrik Singh, whose contributions have been instrumental in bringing this project to fruition.
Surjit Lal, Secretary of the District Red Cross Society, shared details about the program's scope and future plans. He announced that 30 girls would participate in the sewing course during its current phase, with plans to continue and expand the initiative in the coming months. This sustained effort aims to provide more young girls with access to vocational training, empowering them to take charge of their economic futures.
