One dead after devastating fire breaks out at restaurant in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, June 3, 2026: A tragic fire incident at a well-known restaurant in Ferozepur claimed the life of an employee and caused extensive property damage early Wednesday morning. The blaze triggered panic in the area as flames rapidly engulfed parts of the establishment.
According to reports, the fire broke out during the early hours of the day, prompting local residents and bystanders to rush to the scene and make initial efforts to control the flames. However, due to the intensity of the fire, the Fire Department and police were immediately informed.
Fire tenders reached the spot and, after prolonged efforts, managed to bring the blaze under control. During the fire fighting operation, officials discovered that a restaurant employee had been trapped inside the building. It is learnt that neither the restaurant management nor any one present at the scene had informed rescue teams that a worker was inside the premises.
The trapped employee was found severely burnt by fire fighters while they were extinguishing the flames. He was immediately rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The victim is reported to have been an employee of the restaurant.
The incident resulted in heavy financial losses to the restaurant in addition to the loss of life. The exact cause of the fire has not yet been established, though preliminary suspicion points towards a possible short circuit.
Police officials have reached the scene and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the fire and the death of the employee.
