BJP Chandigarh welcomes Tarun Chugh’s Rajya Sabha nomination, hails party leadership’s decision

Chandigarh, June 5, 2026: The Chandigarh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday welcomed the nomination of BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh as the party's Rajya Sabha candidate from Madhya Pradesh.
Expressing happiness over the announcement, BJP Chandigarh President Jatinder Pal Malhotra described Chugh as one of the party's most dedicated leaders whose political journey reflects the BJP's commitment to recognizing hardworking grassroots workers.

Malhotra said Chugh's rise from an ordinary party worker to the position of National General Secretary serves as an inspiration for party cadres across the country. He praised Chugh's organizational abilities, commitment to the party, and leadership skills, which have earned him recognition at the national level.
He noted that the BJP, as the world's largest democratic political organization, has consistently rewarded dedication and hard work. According to Malhotra, Chugh's nomination to the Rajya Sabha reflects the party's worker-centric approach and commitment to promoting experienced leaders.
Highlighting the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Malhotra said the BJP continues to entrust key responsibilities to leaders who have demonstrated commitment to nation-building and organizational growth.
He expressed confidence that Chugh's extensive experience and understanding of public issues would enable him to effectively raise matters of national importance in the Upper House of Parliament.
Malhotra further stated that Chugh's nomination is a matter of pride not only for BJP workers in Punjab and Chandigarh but also for party cadres across North India. He said the decision would motivate workers and further strengthen the organization.
The Chandigarh BJP chief also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP National President J. P. Nadda, and the party leadership for reposing confidence in Chugh.
