Centre extends tenure of AYUSH Secretary Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha

New Delhi, June 22, 2026: The Central Government has approved a one-year extension in the tenure of Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary in the Ministry of AYUSH.
According to an official order, Kotecha’s tenure has been extended beyond June 28, 2026, for a further period of one year on a contract basis. He will now continue in the post until June 28, 2027, on the existing terms and conditions.
The extension was approved by the Government of India and communicated through the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha has been serving as Secretary of the Ministry of AYUSH and has played a key role in the promotion and development of traditional systems of medicine, including Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy, across the country.
