2009-batch IAS officer appointed as Director of NGMA, Bengaluru

New Delhi, June 28, 2026: The Central Government has appointed Priyanka Mary Francis, a 2009-batch IAS officer of the Karnataka cadre, as Director of the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), Bengaluru, under the Ministry of Culture.
According to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the appointment will take effect from the date she assumes charge of the post.
Francis has been appointed at the Joint Secretary level for an overall tenure of five years, up to June 9, 2029, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The appointment was approved following a proposal submitted by the Ministry of Culture, with reference to its Office Memorandum dated May 19, 2026.
