Congress revamps Punjab Poll Team; Channi to head Campaign Committee, Warring retains PPCC Chief’s post; List Inside
AICC appoints committee chairpersons and three working presidents ahead of Punjab Assembly elections

New Delhi, July 1, 2026: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) on Wednesday announced a major organisational reshuffle in Punjab ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections, appointing chairpersons for key election-related committees while retaining Amrinder Singh Raja Warring as the President of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) and Pratap Singh Bajwa as the Leader of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP).
The appointments, announced by AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal, take immediate effect.
Former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi has been appointed Chairman of the Campaign Committee, placing him at the forefront of the party’s election campaign.
Senior Congress leader Vijay Inder Singla will head the Election Management and Coordination Committee, while Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has been named Chairman of the Core Committee. Dr Amar Singh will lead the Manifesto Committee, which will be responsible for preparing the party’s election manifesto.
The Congress President has also appointed Sukhwinder Singh Danny, Raj Kumar Verka, and Sangat Singh Gilzian as Working Presidents of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee.

The party has retained its existing top leadership in Punjab, with Amrinder Singh Raja Warring continuing as the PPCC President and Pratap Singh Bajwa remaining the CLP leader.
To strengthen the party's election machinery, the Congress has also appointed senior leaders as co-chairpersons of the committees.

The Campaign Committee will have Sukhpal Singh Khaira, Rana Gurjeet Singh, and Dr Dharamvira Gandhi as co-chairpersons to assist Channi in steering the party's campaign.
The Election Management and Coordination Committee will be supported by O.P. Soni, Razia Sultana, Kuljit Singh Nagra, Angad Singh Saini, and Bharat Bhushan Ashu as co-chairpersons.
The Manifesto Committee, headed by Dr Amar Singh, will include Gurjeet Singh Aujla, Pargat Singh, Hardial Singh Kamboj, and Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria as co-chairpersons.
The Congress high command has also appointed Sukhwinder Singh Danny, Raj Kumar Verka, and Sangat Singh Gilzian as Working Presidents of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee.
