Punjab Congress in-charge Bhupesh Baghel begins 5-day visit, holds strategy talks for 2027 polls

Chandigarh, July 6, 2026: Punjab Congress in-charge Bhupesh Baghel on Monday arrived at the Punjab Congress Bhawan in Chandigarh for a five-day visit aimed at strengthening the party's organisation and reviewing preparations for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections.
Speaking to reporters upon his arrival, Baghel said he would remain in Punjab for the next five days and interact with party leaders at all levels before addressing the media.
"I have just arrived here. I will stay here for five days and speak with everyone. After that, I will discuss the issues with media colleagues," he said.
Baghel was accorded a warm welcome by the Punjab Congress leadership at the party headquarters.
During his visit, he held detailed discussions with Dr Amar Singh, Chairperson of the Manifesto Committee for the 2027 Assembly elections, Vijay Inder Singla, Chairperson of the Election Management and Coordination Committee, and other senior party leaders.
According to the party, the discussions focused on strengthening the Congress organisation down to the booth level, improving coordination among party leaders and workers, and formulating a strategy to ensure the party's victory in the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections.
