Chandigarh, July 10, 2026: Punjab BJP President Kewal Singh Dhillon on Friday launched a sharp attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, alleging that the recent bomb attack on a police station in Moga reflects a complete breakdown of law and order in the state.
In a statement, Dhillon said the attack demonstrated that even police establishments were no longer safe, raising serious concerns about the security of ordinary citizens.
Targeting Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who also holds the Home portfolio, Dhillon alleged that the government had failed in its constitutional responsibility to maintain law and order and demanded the Chief Minister's resignation on moral grounds.
Referring to the Moga incident, Dhillon claimed it was part of a series of violent incidents during the AAP government's tenure, including the RPG attack on the Punjab Police Intelligence Headquarters in Mohali, the attack on the Sarhali police station, and grenade attacks in Amritsar.
The BJP leader alleged that gangsters were operating freely in Punjab and accused the government of failing to curb organised crime, extortion and violent attacks. He further claimed that criminals no longer feared the law, leaving citizens feeling increasingly insecure.
Dhillon also accused the AAP leadership of neglecting Punjab's security concerns while focusing on political activities outside the state.
He said the BJP would continue to raise issues related to public safety and asserted that the people of Punjab would hold the state government accountable for the deteriorating law and order situation in the next Assembly elections.
