MP Bansuri Swaraj defends Centre, says NEET to go computer-based with AI surveillance to curb paper leaks; Watch Video

New Delhi, July 22, 2026: BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj on Wednesday dismissed allegations that India’s education system has collapsed, asserting that the Centre is taking swift and decisive steps to strengthen the integrity of competitive examinations, particularly NEET.
Addressing the media in Delhi, Swaraj said the government is moving towards computer-based testing for NEET and is deploying artificial intelligence (AI), advanced surveillance systems, and other technologies to prevent paper leaks and examination malpractice.
Calling allegations about the collapse of the education system “false and misleading,” she said, “The government is taking immediate action against anyone found guilty, whether an official or any other individual.”
Referring to the recent NEET controversy, Swaraj said the Ministry of Education registered an FIR immediately after reports of the exam being compromised surfaced and transferred the investigation to the CBI without delay. She said the CBI constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT), arrested 13 accused, and sought day-to-day court hearings to ensure speedy justice for students.
The BJP MP also accused opposition-backed protesters of spreading “false narratives” during demonstrations over the issue. She said the government had invited protest leaders for talks with Union Minister J.P. Nadda and allowed peaceful protests, but alleged that attempts were later made to mislead the public.
Swaraj maintained that the Modi government remains committed to safeguarding the future of students and ensuring transparent, secure, and technology-driven examination systems.
