Breaking: Cockroach Janta Party calls off agitation after Govt accepts key demands

New Delhi, July 25, 2026: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Saturday announced the withdrawal of its agitation after holding three rounds of talks with the government, claiming that its key demands, including the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, withdrawal of cases against protesters and compensation for affected families, had been accepted.
Announcing the decision, CJP Chief Spokesperson Saurav Das said the party was ending the protest "in good faith" with the understanding that the agreed terms would be implemented within the stipulated timelines.
National Spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said the party's primary demand for Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation had been met following the minister's resignation earlier in the day.
Ranka said the government had also agreed to provide an honorary compensation of ₹1 crore to the families of those who lost their lives in connection with the NEET examination controversy, subject to applicable rules and regulations.
He added that the party had submitted a five-point charter seeking wider education and examination reforms. A follow-up meeting with the government is expected in about four weeks to discuss those proposals.
Das said the government had also agreed to withdraw FIRs registered against protesters not only in Delhi but also in BJP-ruled and BJP-allied states. According to him, the government has assured the party that copies of the FIRs—estimated to be between 15 and 20 in Delhi—would be shared within three to four days, following which the process of withdrawing the cases would begin.
He further said the party had sought a written guarantee from the government regarding the withdrawal of the FIRs and assurance that no fresh cases would be filed against protesters or organisers. The government is expected to provide the written assurance by Tuesday.
The CJP had been staging a protest at Jantar Mantar for several days, demanding Pradhan's resignation, withdrawal of legal action against protesters, compensation for affected families and broader reforms in the examination system. Following the government's assurances, the party announced the withdrawal of its agitation.
