Canada: CBSA issues notices to protesting students over PGWP programme in Calgary

Calgary, August 14, 2026: Canada Border Security Agency (CBSA) has issued notices to protesting students who are protesting over Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) programme.
It is learnt that CBSA officials visited protest site where these students numbers in thousands were protesting and checked immigration documents of the students and notices were issued to those students who did not possess valid documents.
It is worth mentioning here that thousands of students are protesting in Calgary and other cities over PGWP as the government has refused to provide work permit to such students and asked them to return to their respective countries. Local state governments are adamant on turning these students back to their homes and federal government led by Mark Carney was supporting provincial governments on this issue.
