Students celebrate Independence Day with patriotic fervour
Ferozepur, August 14, 2026: Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at various schools of the DCM Group of Schools. Special assemblies and cultural programmes were organised to acquaint students with the significance of Independence Day and inspire them with a sense of patriotism.
DC Model Senior Secondary School Principal Yachna Chawla said a special morning assembly was organised, during which students were apprised of the importance of freedom and the sacrifices made for the nation. Young students came to school carrying the Tricolour and presented patriotic songs and dances. Various competitions and activities were also organised for the students.
At Das & Brown World School, Principal Ruchi Pandey said a special patriotic programme was organised to mark Independence Day. Students presented patriotic songs and dances, creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm and national pride. Tricolours were displayed in classrooms, while students also presented patriotic songs. Many children came dressed as national heroes and freedom fighters, including Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and Rani Lakshmibai.
DCM International School Principal Anuradha Chandel said an Independence Day celebration was organised among students at the Nehru Block. Students were sensitised about the importance of freedom and the contributions of national heroes. A fancy-dress competition and other patriotic activities were organised, with students arriving dressed as freedom fighters and national personalities. The school also encouraged students to spread the message of “Har Ghar Tiranga” and hoist the Tricolour at their homes.
