Chandigarh, August 21, 2026: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Rajbir Singh Ghuman, has served a legal notice for defamation on senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia over alleged remarks and accusations made against him.
According to the notice, Ghuman has termed the allegations made by Majithia as baseless, false and defamatory, alleging that they were intended to damage his reputation.
The legal notice reportedly demands that Majithia remove the allegedly defamatory posts, videos and other related content from all his social media accounts within 24 hours.
Ghuman has also sought a public apology from the SAD leader over the statements. The notice further asks Majithia to provide a written undertaking that he will not make similar allegations against Ghuman in the future.
The development comes amid a political controversy surrounding allegations involving people allegedly linked to the Punjab Chief Minister’s office and an Enforcement Directorate communication to the Punjab Police.
Ghuman had earlier challenged Majithia to produce evidence supporting his allegations, saying that if the SAD leader had any chat or evidence showing him asking anyone for money, it should be made public.
The latest legal notice escalates the dispute, with Ghuman warning that failure to comply with the demands within the stipulated period could lead to further legal action.
The allegations in question remain contested, with Ghuman rejecting them as false and defamatory. Majithia’s response to the legal notice was not immediately
