US Breaking: Indian national accused of alleged meth trafficking from California pizza outlet

California (US), September 5, 2026: A 50-year-old Indian national has been charged in California for allegedly distributing large quantities of methamphetamine from a pizza restaurant, according to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ).
According to the DOJ, Kawal Preet Singh, who was allegedly unlawfully residing in the United States, operated a Round Table Pizza restaurant in Dinuba, California. Prosecutors allege that he used the business to facilitate the wholesale distribution of methamphetamine. Authorities also allege that he possessed firearms in connection with the drug trafficking operation.
Federal agents searched Singh’s residence and business premises on August 18. The DOJ said the searches resulted in the seizure of more than 40 pounds of methamphetamine, three firearms and over $10,000 in cash.
If convicted of the drug-trafficking charge, Singh faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and a maximum sentence of life imprisonment, along with a fine of up to $10 million. He also faces an additional mandatory minimum sentence of five years for allegedly possessing firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking. That sentence would be served consecutively to any other prison term.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) as part of the Homeland Security Task Force initiative, which targets criminal cartels, transnational criminal organisations, foreign gangs and human-trafficking networks operating in the United States and abroad.
The U.S. Department of Justice stressed that the charges are allegations only. Singh is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. Any sentence will ultimately be determined by the court based on applicable law and federal sentencing guidelines.
