Civil Defence Training Programme held to sensitise students on rescue skills in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, September 8, 2026: A Civil Defence training programme was organised at Malwa Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Ferozepur, on Tuesday to sensitise students about the importance of Civil Defence and equip them with basic emergency response and rescue skills.
The programme was organised under the directions of Director General of Police-cum-Commandant General, Punjab Home Guards and Director, Civil Defence Punjab, Ram Singh, and under the instructions of Deputy Commissioner-cum-Controller Civil Defence, Ferozepur, Deepshikha Sharma. The programme was conducted under the leadership of Battalion Commander, Punjab Home Guards, Ferozepur-cum-Additional Controller Civil Defence, Gurlavdeep Singh.
The training session was inaugurated by Civil Defence Ferozepur Store Superintendent Parminder Singh Bath, who briefed the students about Civil Defence, its importance and its various areas of operation. He also explained the air raid warning system and demonstrated the functioning of the warning siren.
The students were subsequently given practical demonstrations on safety measures and rescue techniques to be followed during a natural disaster such as an earthquake. The Civil Defence team also trained the students in emergency rescue and first-aid techniques, following which the students themselves participated in practical exercises.
The students and school staff participated enthusiastically in the training programme. Institution President Rozpal Singh and Chairman Varinder Kumar appreciated the initiative and said that such training camps not only contribute to the intellectual and mental development of students but also help them become responsible and better-prepared citizens.
Company Commander of Civil Defence Ferozepur Anish Gupta, along with team members Prateek Monga (DR) and Jagjit Singh (V.O.), was also present on the occasion.
At the conclusion of the programme, School Principal Rajesh Monga, Coordinator Zora Singh and the entire staff thanked Store Superintendent Parminder Singh Bath and the Civil Defence team for conducting the informative and practical training session.
