ANTF seizes nearly 15 Kg Heroin, two teenagers arrested in major drug trafficking bust
Ferozepur, October 24, 2026: The arrest of two teenagers in possession of nearly 15 kg of heroin has raised fresh concern over the growing involvement of youngsters in the drug trafficking network. The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Ferozepur Range, has busted what police describe as a major cross-border and inter-district drug trafficking network, recovering 14.965 kg of heroin and a motorcycle used for transporting the contraband.
The fact that the accused are teenagers has added a disturbing dimension to the case, highlighting the need for greater vigilance against the involvement of young people in organised drug trafficking and the urgent need to prevent vulnerable youngsters from being drawn into the narcotics trade.
The operation was conducted on October 23 on the basis of intelligence inputs developed in coordination with a Central Agency. It was carried out under the supervision of DSP Pirthipal Singh and led by SI Satpal Singh along with the operational team.
The arrested accused, both in their teenage years, have been identified as Simon Singh alias Saimal, son of Piyaara Singh, and Harbhajan Singh alias Babbu, son of Satpal Singh, both residents of Village Changa Rai Hithad in Ferozepur district.
The police also seized a Hero Splendor motorcycle bearing registration number PB05AW0953, which was allegedly being used for the local transit and delivery of the heroin consignment. A case has been registered under FIR No. 249 dated October 23, 2026, at Police Station ANTF, SAS Nagar.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused were allegedly involved in transporting and delivering the contraband locally. The ANTF is conducting intensive interrogation to establish the source of the heroin, trace financial transactions and suspected hawala channels, and identify the intended recipients.
Police said further arrests are expected as the backward and forward linkages of the trafficking network are being investigated.
