SBSSU-KVM holds Health Awareness Seminar; Expert stresses role of natural nutrition in disease prevention
Ferozepur, November 1, 2026: Emphasising the importance of healthy eating habits, natural nutrition and preventive healthcare in reducing the risk of lifestyle-related diseases, Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University (SBSSU), Ferozepur, in collaboration with Kheti Virasat Mission (KVM), organised a special Health Awareness and Motivational Seminar at the university campus.

Atul Shah, popularly known as Atul Bhai, founder of Ojas Life, was the keynote speaker. He sensitised participants to the close relationship between food choices, lifestyle, physical and mental health, and overall wellbeing. He highlighted through his Power Point Presentation (PPP) how natural food, balanced nutrition and conscious lifestyle practices can contribute to better health and help prevent several health complications.
The seminar focused on creating awareness about the importance of preventive healthcare rather than relying solely on treatment after falling ill. It also underlined the need to understand the nutritional value of food, adopt healthier eating practices and make informed choices in everyday life. The role of environmental health in maintaining human wellbeing was also discussed.
Drawing from his personal journey and experiences, Atul Shah shared practical approaches to healthy living and holistic wellness. His motivational interaction encouraged students, faculty members and other participants to take greater responsibility for their health through simple but consistent lifestyle changes. An interactive question-and-answer session provided participants an opportunity to seek clarification and discuss various aspects of nutrition and health.
Hamail Singh of Kheti Virasat Mission said the initiative was part of the organisation's broader vision of promoting the concept of Healthy Soil, Healthy Food and Healthy People, while encouraging environmentally responsible and sustainable living practices.
Welcoming the resource person, university Registrar Dr Rajiv Arora greeted faculty members, students and local residents of Ferozepur attending the seminar. He emphasised the significant role of a healthy diet in minimising the risk of several diseases and stressed the need to make nutritious food and healthy eating habits an integral part of daily life.
