Chandigarh, November 3, 2026: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Punjab Cabinet Minister Master Mohan Lal has strongly denied reports that he is planning to leave the BJP and join the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), describing the claims as baseless rumours.
Speaking exclusively to Babushahi, Mohan Lal clarified that he had no intention of joining any other political party and remained committed to the BJP.
Speculation about his possible switch to the AAP had circulated in sections of the media and on social media earlier on Tuesday, triggering political discussions in Punjab.
Rejecting these reports, the former minister said the claims about his leaving the BJP were false and had no factual basis. He described himself as a loyal party worker and said he had no plans to quit the BJP.
Mohan Lal also appealed to media organisations to verify sensitive political reports with the person concerned or authorised sources before publishing them. Unverified reports, he said, create confusion among the public and go against the principles of responsible journalism.
He urged the public and his supporters not to believe rumours or misleading reports about his political future.
Mohan Lal said he remained committed to serving the people and would continue working for the BJP.
