Breaking: Punjab: DCs and SSPs of five more districts get notices for failing to curb farm fires, total count reaches 9 districts

Chandigarh/New Delhi, November 5, 2026: Deputy Commissioners and SSPs of five more districts have got notices from Commission for Air Quality Management in National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) for failing to curb paddy stubble burning in their areas. Officials of Jalandhar, Faridkot, Bathinda, Barnala and Fazilka were issued notices yesterday. Earlier DCs and SSPs of Gurdaspur, Kapurthala, Amritsar and Tarn Taran have received such notices thus taking the total count of such district to 9 whose officials have got notices.
