BJP’s Double Engine Will Fail in Punjab, BRP Will Hold the Key to the Next Government: Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal Bhukhri Kalan
Chandigarh, 5 November 2026: Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal Bhukhri Kalan, National Vice President of the Bhartiya Rashtrawadi Party (BRP) and State In-Charge of Punjab Pradesh, directly challenged BJP National President Nitin Nabin and Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, declaring that BJP’s double-engine political experiment will fail in Punjab in the 2027 Assembly elections.
Grewal said in a post on his X account that BJP could have established a strong foundation in Punjab if its central leadership had trusted its traditional leaders, dedicated workers and grassroots organisation instead of spending enormous resources on bringing political leaders from other parties.
He said, “When BJP’s central leadership could not trust its own loyal leaders and workers, how can it expect the people of Punjab to trust it? Punjab is not a political marketplace where leaders can be imported, assembled and presented as an electoral winning formula. Punjabis understand every political game.”
Grewal further said that the farmers’ movement, the withdrawal of the three agricultural laws and the long-standing concerns of Punjab’s farmers, agricultural labourers and rural communities cannot be erased through political defections or alliances.
Questioning BJP’s latest political acquisitions from AAP, he said that collecting ten political faces does not mean acquiring ten independent vote banks. Political recognition and actual grassroots electoral strength are two entirely different things.
Referring to BJP’s electoral performance, Grewal pointed out that the party won only two Assembly seats in 2022 and failed to win even one of Punjab’s 13 Lok Sabha seats in 2024, despite increasing its vote share.
Grewal said, “I have worked in the Bharatiya Janata Party for 34 years. I know its organisation, internal functioning and political realities from the inside. I am making this statement with full responsibility: BJP cannot win Punjab through Delhi’s remote-control politics, imported leaders or money power.”
Issuing a direct warning, Grewal said, “Mr Nitin Nabin Ji and Shri Amit Shah Ji, write down my prediction on a plain white sheet of paper and keep it. In 2027, Punjab’s people will reject BJP’s double-engine politics. You may bring any number of leaders or form alliances with the Shiromani Akali Dal or any other party, but you cannot defeat the political will of Punjabis.”
Grewal emphatically declared that the Bhartiya Rashtrawadi Party (BRP) will emerge as a decisive political force and hold the key to the formation of the next Punjab government.
He said, “The final decision about who forms the next government will be made according to the aspirations and wishes of Punjab’s people. The key will be in BRP’s hands. We will help determine the political direction Punjab needs. The countdown to 2027 has already begun.”
Grewal concluded, “Punjab will not be run by Delhi’s remote control. Punjabis will decide, Punjabis will deliver the verdict, and BJP will have to face the reality.”
