SAS Nagar, August 30, 2024:To ensure the benefits of welfare schemes to the maximum eligible beneficiaries, the District Administration, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar has been mulling collaborating with such an organization/stakeholder that can work diligently so that welfare schemes can be extended to the last mile, ensuring broader reach and impact.
Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner, Mrs Aashika Jain said that though the Sewa Kendras and Suvidha Camps have already been serving the purpose it has been felt that reaching out to the last person in the line, an organization can prove helpful to add more beneficiaries.
Giving the example of the Building and other Construction Workers’ beneficial scheme being run by the Punjab Building and Other Construction Workers Board, she said that the scheme has un-limited financial benefits for the registered workers but due to lack of awareness, many of them are still deprived of the benefits. To reach out to such beneficiaries, we are exploring potentials to tie up with such stakeholders who can make the access of the poor workers to schemes by mobilizing and facilitating them.
Similarly, there are several Self Help Groups to empower women financially but they don’t know how to get registration with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), GST Department and Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)’s UDYAM registration.
“We have invited numerous organisations who are working in this field to explore the possibility of Collaboration with one of them,” said the Deputy Commissioner adding that one such organisation Haqdarshak has given its presentation and we will decide after a meeting of all, one by one.
