New Delhi, June 23, 2024: The Central government has announced a big decision for mothers who give birth to a child through surrogacy and the parents who adopt those children.
Now in cases of surrogacy, the surrogate, a central government employee, will be able to get 180 days of maternity leave.
Along with the surrogate, the presiding mother, i.e. the commissioning mother, who has less than two living children, if she is a government employee, will also get 180 days of maternity leave.
For this, the Central Civil Services (Leave) Rules, 1972 have been amended, which benefits central employees The commissioning mother for surrogacy, who has less than two living children, will also be eligible to get child care leave Along with this, a big decision has also been taken regarding paternity leave for surrogacy.
Now a central employee commissioning father, who has less than two living children, will be entitled to get 15 days of paternity leave within six months of the birth of the child,
