242 Aam Aadmi Clinics, 2,645 Health Centres in Punjab renamed as 'Ayushman Arogya Mandir', directions issued

Chandigarh, November 29, 2024: Following the direction of the Government of India, the Punjab government has renamed its health and wellness centers and Aam Aadmi Clinics as 'Ayushman Arogya Mandir'.
The directions for the rebranding as been issued to the Deputy Commissioners and Civil Surgeons in the state.
As per the government order, 2403 Health and Wellness Centers, 466 Primary Health Care Centers, and 242 urban Aam Aadmi Clinics (AACs) have been renamed as 'Ayushman Arogya Mandir'.
Due to the Punjab government not receiving National Health Mission (NHM) funds for the past 18 months, the AAP-led government agreed to change the names of nearly half of the Aam Aadmi Clinics (AACs) across the state.
For undertaking the rebranding, the District Health Societies shall be responsible for the identification of executing agency and monitoring the execution of the branding of each individual Health & Wellness Centers (Sub centers & PHCs) & Urban Aam Aadmi Clinics (AACs) falling under its jurisdiction.
Branding will include changing the name of the existing facility and per the defined norms ie wall paint, logo, Name board and borders on Windows & doors.
