Harsharan Kaur Trehan appointed Director (Commercial) of PSPCL

Patiala (Punjab), February 20, 2026: In a key administrative decision, the Punjab Government’s Power Department has appointed Harsharan Kaur Trehan as Director (Commercial) of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) for a term of two years. She assumed charge at the PSPCL headquarters in Patiala today.
Senior officials, including CA S.K. Beri (Director/Finance, PSPCL), Er. Sanjeev Kumar Sood (Director/Technical, PSTCL), and CA Vinod Bansal (Director/Finance, PSTCL), were present to extend their greetings on the occasion.
Mrs. Trehan brings over 35 years of extensive experience in the power sector. She retired in October 2022 as Engineer-in-Chief (Material Management) and was the senior-most officer of PSPCL/PSTCL at the time of her superannuation.
During her distinguished career, she handled key assignments in Transmission and Thermal Design at Ropar Thermal Plant, Hydel Design, and the Investment Promotion Cell. She played an instrumental role in the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), and Non-Renewable and Renewable Energy (NRSE) projects.
As Deputy Chief Engineer (Regulation) for nearly five years, she made significant contributions to refining the Supply Code, Commercial Regulations, and ESIM framework. Later, as Chief Engineer/Engineer-in-Chief (Material Management), she supervised procurement operations with an annual budget exceeding ₹1,000 crore, ensuring transparency and efficiency. Her service record consistently reflected ‘Outstanding’ performance ratings.
After assuming office, Mrs. Trehan expressed gratitude to the Punjab Government and affirmed her commitment to strengthening the Corporation’s commercial operations and delivering improved services to consumers.
