DIET conducts ‘Ullas’ Examination to promote lifelong learning
Ferozepur, September 21, 2025: The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Ferozepur, successfully conducted the Ullas examination across the district as part of a state-wide initiative to promote lifelong learning. Ullas—which stands for “Understanding of Lifelong Learning for All in Society”—is a transformative government program aimed at fostering continuous education and bridging the gap in basic literacy and essential life skills among citizens aged 15 years and above.
Under the guidance of Punjab SCERT Director Mrs. Kiran Sharma and Assistant Director Surinder, the examination was held simultaneously across Punjab. In Ferozepur, the effort was led by DIET Principal Mrs. Seema, Ullas Incharge Mrs. Aarti Sachdeva, and Nodal Incharge Mr. Gaurav Munjal.
Around 5,000 previously illiterate residents of Ferozepur district participated in the examination, marking a significant step toward literacy. Following the test, many participants are now joining the ranks of the literate, fulfilling the program’s key objective of lifelong learning.
The examination was organized with the support of DIET’s D.El.Ed. trainees and nodal volunteers from various schools. Principal Mrs. Seema and DIET faculty members also visited different blocks to monitor the smooth conduct of the examination.
