Chandigarh, January 17, 2025 - Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana said excessive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides is adversely affecting the land and the environment is also getting polluted.
He said by adopting natural farming, we can improve the quality of the land. Naturally grown crops are more healthy and also fetch higher prices in the market.
Rana was addressing a district-level workshop organized by the Agriculture Department in Radaur town of Yamunanagar district today to make farmers aware about natural farming. The Cabinet Minister also visited an exhibition related to agricultural equipment at the venue.
The Agriculture Minister said natural farming means cultivation of microbes. Our natural resources are being overexploited due to chemical farming and along with the increase in the cost of the crop, there has been a stagnation in the yield as well.
The minister also honoured progressive farmers of the area. He also made farmers aware of not burning crop residue.
On this occasion, experts gave detailed information to farmers about various schemes related to agriculture and natural farming. The schemes being run by the departments for farmers and the documents required to avail those schemes were also explained in detail.
