Five Sikh candidates emerge victories in Delhi polls

New Delhi, February 8, 2025: Five Sikh candidates, three from BJP and two AAP, emerged victories in the Delhi Assembly elections.
Tarvinder Singh Marwah-BJP
In one of the biggest upsets — among several — for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) this Delhi Assembly election, three-time MLA and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia lost to BJP’s Tarvinder Singh Marwah — by 675 votes.
Manjinder Singh Sirsa-BJP
Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Saturday won the Rajouri Garden seat in the Delhi elections, marking his comeback on the seat.
Sirsa defeated Aam Aadmi Party's candidate Dhanwati Chandela by a vote margin of over 18,000 votes.He also represented the constituency in the 2017 Delhi by-elections. However, in the 2020 Delhi Assembly polls, Sirsa lost to AAP Chandela from the seat.
Arvinder Singh Lovely-BJP
BJP's Arvinder Singh Lovely won the crucial Gandhi Nagar assembly seat, defeating AAP's Naveen Chaudhary by 12,748 votes.
Jarnail Singh-AAP
AAP candidate Tilak Nagar Assembly constituency, Jarnail Singh won against BJP’s Shveta Saini by a vote margin of 11656.
Punardeep Singh Sawhney-AAP
Punardeep Singh Sawhney (Sabby) won Chandni Chowk Assembly Seat with 16572 votes. Mudit Agarwal of Indian National Congress lost with 29928 votes and Satish Jain of Bharatiya Janata Party lost by 16572 votes.
