Himachal Disaster: Seven Union Ministers to visit affected districts

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), September 13, 2025: The Central Government has deputed seven Union Ministers to visit disaster-affected districts of Himachal Pradesh, where heavy rains, floods, and landslides have caused widespread damage to life, property, and crops.
BJP State General Secretary Payal Vaidya said the ministers will tour Chamba, Mandi, and Kullu districts to review the situation and interact with affected families. Their reports will later be submitted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Central Government has already announced interim assistance of ₹1,500 crore for Himachal Pradesh and ₹1,600 crore for Punjab, in addition to the ₹12,000 crore available in the Punjab Disaster Relief Fund.

- Savitri Thakur (MoS WCD): 12–13 September, Manali
- Shantanu Thakur (MoS Ports, Shipping & Waterways): 12–13 September, Banjar
- Ajay Tamta (MoS Highways & Road Transport): 14–15 September (Proposed), Siraj, Mandi, Kullu
- Durga Das Uikey (MoS Tribal Affairs): 13–14 September, Bhatiyat, Bharmour
- Dr. Sukanta Majumdar (MoS Education): Date to be decided
- Jitin Prasad (MoS Commerce & Industry): Date to be decided
- Jadhav Rao Ganpat Rao (MoS Health & Family Welfare): Date to be decided
The Himachal Pradesh BJP welcomed the decision, terming it a milestone that would accelerate relief and rehabilitation work.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has earlier visited Punjab and Himachal Pradesh to take stock of the disaster. Agencies including the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and local administration are engaged in ongoing rescue and relief operations, supported by BJP workers and volunteers.
