International gold smuggling racket busted by Ludhiana police

Ludhiana, September 27, 2023: The Ludhiana Police busted an international gold smuggling racket where gold was smuggled through International Airport Raja Sansi, Sri Amritsar.
FIR No.163 Dated 09-09-2023 u/s 25.54.59 Arms Act Police Station Salem Tabri, Ludhiana was registered.
Accused arrested in that FIR :
1. Azad Singh
2. Ashu Kumar both residents of Saharanpur, UP.
Kingpin Puneet @ Pankaj (yet to be arrested) used to smuggle gold in paste form from Dubai through inspected tourist returning back to Punjab.
Recovery from above accused was
Pistol
Gold Paste 1 1230 Gms
After getting leads from that investigation it came to light that another consignment was sent by kingpin Puneet from Dubai through Sumit Kumar of Haryana who had arrived at Chandigarh International airport, Mohali.
Upon information provided by Neha, Sumit Kumar was stopped by 4 persons outside Chandigarh airport, Mohali and gold paste weighing about 1600 Gms and his passport was looted from him.
In this regard 5 persons were arrested from near SamralaChowk, Ludhiana who had came to Ludhiana to sell looted gold and FIR no 463 dated 26.9.2023 u/s 392, 120 B IPC PS Div. No 7, Ludhiana was registered late night.
