Report by Baljit Singh
Patti (Tarn Taran), December 21, 2025: In a strong action against drug trafficking, the Tarn Taran district administration on Sunday carried out demolition drives against properties linked to drug peddlers in Patti town, sending a clear warning to those involved in the narcotics trade.
As part of the crackdown, the district police and civil administration demolished the house of Ranjit Singh Rana in Ward No. 1, Patti, using heavy machinery. Officials said Rana has more than six criminal cases registered against him, including cases related to drug trafficking and robbery, and the action was taken keeping his criminal background in view.
Additionally, the administration also demolished the house of Heera Singh, who was allegedly involved in drug trafficking and had encroached illegally on government land.
Speaking on the occasion, senior police and revenue officials said the action was part of an ongoing campaign to curb drug-related crimes and remove illegal structures linked to criminal activities.
SP (Detective) Ripudaman Singh and Tehsildar Amritpal Kaur, who were present during the demolition, warned that any drug trafficker continuing illegal activities will face similar action and their properties will not be spared.
The administration reiterated its zero-tolerance policy against drugs and urged citizens to cooperate in the fight against narcotics.
