Jalandhar (Punjab), November 12, 2025:In a major citizen-centric initiative, the Regional Passport Office (RPO), Jalandhar, held a Passport Adalat on Wednesday, offering speedy redressal of passport-related grievances. The special drive drew around 350 applicants, with officials approving and clearing over 250 cases on the spot, ensuring faster passport issuance.
Regional Passport Officer Yashpal said the event was aimed at resolving long-pending cases and simplifying the application process. “Our goal is to provide efficient, transparent, and hassle-free passport services to every citizen,” he stated, adding that similar adaalats and special service camps would be conducted regularly.
Applicants with pending files have been advised to visit the RPO between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on any working day, carrying all relevant documents. Walk-ins are also permitted, with or without prior appointments.
Meanwhile, the RPO’s Mobile Passport Van, stationed at the Tehsil Complex in SBS Nagar from November 10 to 12, received a tremendous public response, making passport services more accessible to people in remote areas.
Encouraged by the turnout, the RPO plans to extend the Mobile Van service to additional districts, further enhancing citizen outreach across the region.
Mr. Yashpal emphasized that the success of both the Passport Adaalat and the Mobile Van initiative reflects the office’s commitment to bringing government services closer to the people and ensuring quicker, citizen-friendly passport processing.
