Regressive budget without vision of development: Tarun Chugh
"Women in state cheated again"
"Liquor scam tainted Sisodia will handle drugs in Punjab "
"No incentive for agriculture, industry after state debt goes beyond Rs three lakh cr"
Chandigarh, March 26, 2025:
BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh today described the Punjab AAP government budget as a bundle of regressive vision which holds no promise for the development of the state.
No new initiatives have been taken either for farmers or for industrialists. After committing the liquor scam in Delhi, there is a clear stamp of Manish Sisodia on the budget who would replicate liquor scam into drug scam in Punjab.
Taking strong exception to the Bhagwant Mann government's failure to keep its electoral promises, Chugh said women in the entire state are once again standing disappointed. The AAP government's failure to grant Rs 1000 to women reflects how insensitive the Punjab government is to the issues of women.
Chugh pointed out that the staggering increase in the state debt, which has touched almost Rs three lakh crores, reflected how poorly the economy is being handled by the AAP government.
Chugh said a poster campaign has been launched in the name of drugs in the name of which the AAP government would be siphoning off hundreds of crores into publicity.
He pointed out that the budget is alarmingly silent about the growth of MSMEs or other new employment generation alternatives.
He said the budget offers no incentives for lakhs of unemployed in the state, nor does it talk about redressing the grievances of the farmers.
At a time when the entire state is going down the drain, the Kejriwal-led government is only trying to save itself at a time when the entire Punjab has turned against it.
