Smuggling bid foiled; BSF-Punjab Police seize heroin, drone near Indo-Pak border
Ferozepur, April 26, 2025: Acting on reliable information from the BSF Intelligence Wing, vigilant BSF troops, in collaboration with Punjab Police, recovered one drone and two packets of heroin in two separate incidents within the last 24 hours.
On Friday evening, a joint search operation by BSF and Punjab Police led to the recovery of a DJI Mavic 3 Classic drone along with one packet of suspected heroin (gross weight: 558 grams) from a farming field near the village Dal in the district of Tarn Taran.
On Saturday morning, during another joint search operation, BSF troops and Punjab Police recovered one more packet of suspected heroin (gross weight: 560 grams) from a farming field near village Chudi Wala in district Ferozepur.
Robust technical countermeasures deployed along the border and the diligent efforts of BSF troops, working closely with Punjab Police, successfully thwarted yet another smuggling attempt and the intrusion of illicit drones from across the border.
