Three bulls rescued from vehicle in Makhu; Police book unidentified driver on Mahant’s complaint
Ferozepur, August 15, 2026: Makhu Police have registered a case after three bulls were allegedly found being transported in a vehicle, following a complaint by Mahant Garib Das, General Secretary of Punjab Gau Dal.
According to the police report, FIR has been registered under Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 and Sections 3, 4-A and 8 of the Punjab Prohibition of Cow Slaughter Act, 1955, against unidentified persons.
As per the complaint, Mahant Garib Das and his associates received information about cattle being transported in a vehicle bearing registration number HP-73-5322. They allegedly followed the vehicle, which was travelling towards the Malwa Road area after passing through Kotkapura and surrounding villages.
The vehicle reportedly reached near an HP petrol pump in Makhu, where one of its tyres got punctured. The driver allegedly abandoned the vehicle and fled from the spot.
On checking the vehicle, three bulls were allegedly found inside. The complainant alleged that the animals were being transported for sale and slaughter.
Meanwhile, the police have initiated further investigation into the matter.
