Training held for Nodal and Assistant Nodal Officers regarding SIR
Special Intensive Revision-2026 work to be completed with full dedication and honesty: ADEO
Ferozepur, June 16, 2026: A training session for nodal officers, assistant nodal officers and their teams was organised at the District Administrative Complex, Ferozepur, for the successful implementation of Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of electoral rolls.
The training was conducted under the guidance of Additional District Election Officer-cum-Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr. Amandeep Kaur, following the directions of the Election Commission of India and District Election Officer-cum-Additional Deputy Commissioner Deepashikha Sharma.
Dr. Amandeep Kaur said that various district-level cells constituted for SIR-2026, including the Grievance Redressal Cell, IT Team, Training Management Team, Material Management Team, Media Monitoring Team, Media Coordination Team, SVEEP Team, Reporting Team, Legal Team, BLO and staff welfare team, and district-level social media team, participated in the training. The members were briefed about their assigned responsibilities and duties.
Earlier, Dr. Amandeep Kaur held a meeting with nodal and assistant nodal officers of different committees formed for SIR-2026 and directed them to complete all preparations within the stipulated time so that the revision process could be carried out successfully.
She said that the main objective of the Election Commission of India is to ensure inclusion of every eligible citizen in the electoral rolls and removal of names of ineligible persons from the voter lists. She instructed all officials to perform their assigned duties with complete dedication, transparency and honesty.
Election Tehsildar Deepak Kumar, Election Kanungos Gagandeep Kaur and Daljit Singh, DMLTs Ashish Arora, Tarlochan Singh and Pawan Kumar were also present on the occasion.
