Kisan Rail is becoming medium to increase farmers’ income, saysTomar
New Delhi, February 22, 2021: Union agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Monday commended the services of Kisan Rail, started by the central government last year.
“Farmers' rail is becoming a medium to increase farmers’ income by connecting the country's grain providers with the markets,” posted union agriculture minister on his Twitter account on Monday.
Tomar further shared that 208 Kisan Rail services are being operated on 24 routes across the country.
“50% subsidy is being given on the transportation of fruits and vegetables from Kisan Rail,” he further wrote.
