Chandigarh, May 7, 2022: On BJP leader Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga case, Bir Devinder Singh, Former Deputy Speaker, Punjab Vidhan Sabha said that Punjab Police must not be used as mercenaries of Arvind Kejriwal.
He said that the incident has brought disgrace to the dignity of the State of Punjab.
"The Punjab Police’s One -Act-Play: The Revenge, repeatedly being played in Delhi as part of Kejriwal’s sub-genre theory of political vengeance, has brought disgrace to the dignity of the State of Punjab. The indefensible adventure of the contingent of the Punjab police had to face humiliating rebuff and retaliation by the Delhi police. It is a matter of grave concern that the Punjab police cops including officers were intercepted by the Haryana Police at Pippli and were shamefully imperiled to police custody in the Police Station at Kurukshetra for a while, till the Delhi police arrived there to take back BJP leader Mr. Tejinder Pal Singh Bagga," expressed Bir Devinder Singh.
"The repeated attempts of the Punjab Police to embarrass and hassle the political opponents of the Delhi Chief Minister Mr. Arvind Kejriwal, who expresses their views against his policies, were foiled by the judiciary. Unfortunately, the sinister designs of the rancorous sick mind, desperately trying to rule Punjab as proxy Chief Minister is making things worst for Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Mann and ultimately the Aam Aadmi Party will have to pay, very heavy price for the misadventures of Mr. Kejriwal, sooner than later," he added.
"After all the Majesty of the law of the land, cannot remain as mute spectator and certainly cannot allow the blatant exploitation of the Punjab Police as mercenaries of Kejriwal to settle political scores with his adversaries. If Mr. Kejriwal really feel offended because of some false and unjustifiable utterances of his opponents against him then he should either lodge a police complaint with the Delhi Police and if the Delhi police does not act then he should prefer a defamation suit in the court of law, rather than misusing the Punjab police to target his adversaries.
The DGP of Punjab Police Mr. V.K Bhawara; who otherwise is a forthright top cop with impeccable integrity, must put his foot down and indeed resist, such low level politically motivated, mischievous choreographies of the police force, which brings disgrace not only to the State of Punjab but also badly blemish the image of the police force," Former Deputy Speaker added.
