Moga administration cracks down on stubble-burning
- Takes stringent action against a farmer who burned paddy stubble in field

Moga (Punjab), October 9, 2024: The Moga district administration has taken stringent action against a farmer who burned paddy stubble in his field, violating the ban. The farmer's land records have been marked with a "Red Entry" and a fine of Rs. 2500 has been imposed.
Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal stated that the administration received information about stubble burning in a field at village Said Jalalpur (Tehsil Dharmkot). Upon investigation, the allegations were found true, and subsequent action was taken.
The National Green Tribunal and Pollution Control Board have adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards stubble burning. Satellite monitoring is being used to keep a close eye on every field.
DC Sarangal urged farmers to cooperate with the district administration in protecting the environment and future. He emphasized that stubble burning harms the environment and human health.
