Railway staff’s returns passenger’s lost bag containing valuable wedding items
Ferozepur, November 21, 2024: On Wednesday, a heartwarming act of honesty unfolded aboard the Swaraj Express. M.K. Devnath, traveling with his family from Vadodara to Pathankot Cantt for his daughter’s wedding, accidentally left behind a trolley bag in the air-conditioned A-1 coach. The bag contained valuable wedding items.
Upon realizing the loss, Devnath promptly reported the matter to the inquiry counter at Pathankot Cantt station. Commercial Inspector Shailendra immediately alerted CIT Abdul Rashid at Jammu Tawi station. When the train reached Jammu Tawi, Rashid, along with on-duty station staff, searched the A-1 coach and successfully located the bag.
The bag was verified and returned to Devnath upon arrival at Jammu Tawi station. Grateful for the swift action and honesty displayed, he expressed his heartfelt thanks to Indian Railways and lauded the dedication of its staff.
Adding that the integrity of railway staff shines bright and honesty is still alive, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Parmdeep Singh Saini announced a commendation certificate for the ticket-checking staff involved, encouraging others to follow their example in delivering exceptional service.
