KMSC denies issuing Identity Cards for toll-free passage, Warns against Fake IDs
Ferozepur/Shambhu, March 18, 2025: Punjab’s Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee (KMSC) has clarified that it does not issue identity cards for toll-free passage or other purposes.
However, the organisation maintains that since vehicle owners pay road tax at the time of registration, paying tolls repeatedly is unjust and illegal. According to KMSC, it is the government's responsibility to construct roads using public tax revenue rather than allowing private corporations to exploit citizens through toll fees.
The committee has instructed its cadre to affix official KMSC flags, stickers, and driver badges on their vehicles when travelling. A press note was already issued in 2023 warning against the misuse of fake identity cards in the organization’s name. KMSC has condemned individuals involved in creating or using counterfeit cards, stating that such actions tarnish the organization’s reputation. Those found guilty have been warned to immediately cease such practices.
The committee also revealed that they have received videos from toll plazas showing individuals attempting to evade toll charges using fake KMSC cards. These individuals, who have no actual affiliation with KMSC, are unable to name any senior leaders when questioned. However, out of concern for their dignity, the organization has chosen not to release these videos publicly.
KMSC reaffirms its stance against paying toll tax and calls on toll plaza companies and employees to take note of this decision. The announcement strictly applies to KMSC members only, and the organization holds no responsibility for identity cards issued by any other groups.
Daleep, an active farmer from the Shambhu border informed us that we have seized the fake cards from Toll Plaza Dhilwan and warned such persons using these cards to get the free cross from toll plaza. We only issue a Yellow Parchi of Rs.10 at the time of election. However, KMSC members must put a flag and sticker and a driver’s sticker. He also said that we would take action against such persons preparing fake ID cards.
