Bikers' Rally to boost border tourism gets warm welcome in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, March 20, 2025: A bikers' rally promoting border tourism arrived in Ferozepur, the city of martyrs, and was giFerozepur Firozpur Chapter at Das and Brown World School. The rally, organized by Oxbow Explorer, began in Delhi on March 17 and passed through Chandigarh, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, and Tarn Taran before reaching Ferozepur. It will continue its journey to Faridkot and Fazilka before returning to Delhi. The rally primarily included military officers.
A round table ceremony was held at the Vishnu Bhagwan Rai Bahadur Hall of Das and Brown World School. The event was inaugurated with a lamp-lighting ceremony, and Vice Principal Bindu Gupta of VP Cambridge welcomed the guests and riders. The Deputy GOC, Brigadier Bikram Singh, graced the occasion as the chief guest, accompanied by Colonel Yogesh, Colonel Ashish, and INTACH Punjab Chapter Convener Major General (Retd.) Balwinder Singh. They shared their views on promoting border tourism, emphasizing the need for active efforts.
Dr. Anirudh Gupta, Convener of INTACH Firozpur Chapter, presented his vision for developing Ferozepur as a tourist hub. He emphasized the historical significance and potential heritage sites in the border district that could be developed for tourism. He highlighted Ferozepur's potential to rise on the international map with world-class tourist facilities and its ability to attract global visitors to its rich heritage. He added that increased tourism would boost local industries such as hotels, restaurants, taxis, and other businesses.
Manisha Dutta, COO of Oxbow Explorer, explained that the rally aims to promote tourism and preserve heritage, receiving support at every stop. Brigadier Bikram Singh praised the efforts of the bikers, stating that such initiatives could enhance awareness of the region's cultural and historical significance.
The event concluded with INTACH officials honouring the bikers. Principal Dr. Rajesh Chandel, DGM Dr. Salin, Deputy Head, INTACH members, and other dignitaries were also present.
