Patwari-Shahi Group wins unilaterally in Mohali Press Club elections

S.A.S Nagar (Punjab), March 29, 2025: Patwari-Shahi Group has registered a unilateral victory in the election of the governing body of Mohali Press Club for the year 2025-26.
In this election, which was held under the chairmanship of Chief Election Commissioner Harinder Pal Singh Harry and Election Commissioners Kulwinder Singh Bawa and Amardeep Singh Saini, voting for the post of General Secretary was completed from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm today.
At around 2.30 pm, the Chief Election Commissioner announced the election results, in which a total of 98 members used their votes.During this, Gurmeet Singh Shahi of Patwari-Shahi Group got 77 votes and Tilak Raj got 19 votes, while two votes were rejected.
In this way, Gurmeet Singh Shahi won a big victory for the post of General Secretary.
Meanwhile, the Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commissioners declared the new body of 9 office bearers of the Patwari-Shahi Group panel - President Sukhdev Singh Patwari, General Secretary Gurmeet Singh Shahi, C. Vice President Sushil Garcha, Vice Presidents Manjit Singh Chana and Vijay Pal, Organizing Secretary Mrs. Neelam Kumari, Joint Secretaries Dr. Ravinder Kaur and Vijay Kumar and Cashier Rajiv Taneja as winners.
On this occasion, President Sukhdev Singh Patwari expressed special gratitude to the Election Commission and said that the Commission carried out the assigned responsibility in a very peaceful atmosphere and with dedication.
He further said that the biggest task before the Mohali Press Club is to get a place for the Press Club from the government, for which all possible efforts will be made along with the Mohali Press Club and the entire journalist community.
During this, various members of the club congratulated the newly elected team, welcomed them with flower garlands, and distributed laddus in joy.Finally, the Election Commission thanked all the members for their cooperation in the election of the club.
