Punjab State Traders Commission Chairman Anil Thakur holds meeting with various traders, builders and industrialists of Mohali
Assures Addressing Government-related problems at the earliest
Appeals to traders and other business communities to pay taxes honestly and on time for the progress and prosperity of Punjab

Im continuation to the ‘Aap Di Sarkar Aap De Duar’ campaign of the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab State Traders Commission (Excise and Taxation Department) Chairman Anil Thakur today held a meeting with the traders, builders and industrialists of SAS Nagar district and listened to their problems.
Chairman Anil Thakur, while taking a meeting on excise and GST matters at the commission office in Mohali today, discussed the issues of various traders, builders and industrialists and asked the Excise and State GST Department to create smooth coordination between the department and the business community to increase tax revenue.
He said that the Punjab Government led by S. Bhagwant Singh Mann has increased the GST tax revenue of the state by 62 percent. Similarly, the excise revenue has been increased by 63 percent. He said that the OTS scheme implemented by the government for one-time settlement of arrears under the traditional VAT system has benefited 70311 dealers, under which they have got a benefit of Rs 867 crore in arrears.
Addressing various businessmen and industrialists on this occasion, Chairman Anil Thakur said that the Punjab Government will make every possible effort to resolve the legitimate problems/demands being faced by them. Chairman Anil Thakur asked the officers of State GST and Excise Wing to take appropriate steps to remove the loopholes in tax collection. He asked the businessmen and industrialists to pay the taxes for the progress and prosperity of Punjab honestly and on time so that the government exchequer can benefit from the increase in revenue.
He also said that he is working as a bridge between the Punjab Government and business communities and industrialists. He said that he is going to every district and listening to the problems of traders and industrialists so that these can be resolved at the government level.
Chairman Thakur said that as per the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Commission and the Department are committed to providing a positive and comfortable environment to the traders and industrialists in the state. He asked the officers present at the meeting from State GST to immediately resolve the problems raised by the traders.
He said that as per he has been meeting the industrialists, builders and traders in the state and as per the promises made to them, they are being provided with a comfortable environment in the state and solving their problems. He said that the government and all its wings are making sincere efforts to properly resolve all the problems of the traders and industrialists and if any trader faces any problem, he can contact him.
He asked the various traders and industrialists who attended the meeting to submit their suggestions/demands in writing and assured them that the Government and the commission would take each of their suggestions positively so that their legitimate problems would be adequately resolved.
On this occasion, District Mohali Traders Wing President Ranjit Pal Singh, President Bar Association, Ram Bansal, Mohali Industry Association, Industry Association-82, Mohali Traders Association, Derabassi Industry Association and Mohali Grocery Association, owners of Marriage Palaces, Hotels and Restaurants along with office bearers of various trade chambers and industrial associations were present, who put forward various suggestions and problems.
