Chandigarh, June 4, 2025 – Haryana's Energy, Transport, and Labor Minister Anil Vij took a sharp dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, questioning his own self-classification after Gandhi's metaphorical remarks about party workers being “racehorses, wedding horses, or lame horses.”
Responding to media queries on Gandhi’s statement, Vij retorted, “Rahul Gandhi is busy labeling his party members as different kinds of horses. But first, he should tell the country what kind of horse he is — a wedding horse, a lame horse, or a warhorse.”
Vij’s criticism didn’t stop there. Taking on senior Congress leader Randeep Surjewala’s accusation that the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) had become a "Scam Service Commission," Vij hit back saying, “Surjewala is right — it was a Scam Service Commission during Congress’ tenure. Now, under our government, it functions as a proper HPSC.”
On Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut's jibe about calling a special session, where he sarcastically questioned whether the Centre would need to approach Donald Trump to convene it, Vij dismissed it outright. “Sanjay Raut lacks basic knowledge of the Indian Constitution. There’s a well-defined procedure to convene a session. Did past sessions happen on the advice of foreign powers?”
Mocking further, Vij said, “Trump seems to have occupied the minds and hearts of the opposition. They now wake up, bathe, and even eat on Trump’s instructions.”
The statements mark another episode of heated political sparring as parties gear up for upcoming elections, with sharp rhetoric becoming the norm on both sides.
