Ferozepur police crackdown on drug mafia, 2 held, nearly 5 Kg heroin seized
Ferozepur, June 23, 2025:In a major offensive against drug trafficking, Ferozepur Police recovered over 4.9 kg of heroin in two separate cases registered under the NDPS Act and arrested two accused. SSP Bhupinder Singh Sidhu held a press conference today to share details of the successful operations carried out under the ongoing “War Against Drugs” campaign.
In the first case, a team led by DSP Rural and SHO Ghall Khurd arrested Nishan Singh, alias Sonu (25), son of Joginder Singh, a resident of Nihanga Wala Jhug. The police recovered 4 kg 516 grams of heroin and a mobile phone from his possession. A case under the NDPS Act was registered at Ghall Khurd police station on June 22, 2025.
In the second case, the CIA team, under the supervision of SP (D) and DSP (D), arrested Gurjeet Singh (24), a resident of Khane Ke village. The team recovered 400 grams of heroin and a motorcycle bearing registration number PB-04-AG-1028. This case was registered on June 20, 2025.
SSP Bhupinder Singh disclosed that Gurjeet Singh is a habitual offender, previously booked under the Arms Act in August 2021 and May 2023 in separate cases.
Reaffirming the district police’s resolve, SSP Bhupinder Singh stated, “We have received fresh leads, and more recoveries and arrests are expected. Our mission under the ‘War Against Drugs’ will continue relentlessly, and we urge the public to extend their support in this fight.”
